I'm happy to announce that Roll is now a fully playable character, and appears automatically unlocked in the Demo Mode so everyone can test her out. She does not appear naturally in the main game and must be unlocked by password - this is another bonus for players who actually read these update posts and she has the potential to really change your game with plenty of new abilities to mess around with. Enter the super-secret bonus phrase Robot Get : Let's Rock n' Roll! into Dr. Light's password prompt in the main game and you'll find the adorable Roll added to your team of robots at Level 1. Roll only knows one damaging ability - the Buster Shot - but she learns an array of unique and useful abilities as she grows in levels, including a team-wide stat boosters and ways to manipulate the newly added Field Multipliers. After logging into your save file and selecting Dr. Light, click the little player sprite that appears at the top-left of the window repeatedly until a text prompt appears. Enter the secret phrase above into the input field and click "OK" to have Roll added to your game.
Loving the new updates and Roll, I feel they add more gameplay deep. I hope you keep like this! The only thing I don't get is why when I use the Proto Buster with MegaMan, it halves the power. That's the only thing I don't understand, everything else is awesome, and also adds more to the game. Keep up the good work!
Thanks guys! About the Proto / Mega / Roll Buster, I was thinking that making them work better when used by their "owners" was a good idea. My thought process was that it would make them more rare or special and discourage equipping them to other robots... But I guess that was stupid so I've removed it. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for bringing it up and changing my mind - that was a cheap way to make an ability feel unique and I'll try not to do it again. :)
Hi Spinstrike, thanks for asking. Once you've completed the main game as either player, revisit the Intro Field and defeat the team of Mets to unlock one for use in battle. Be warned, the Met is very weak with a base stat total only half of the other robots and has a very limited movepool. Unlocking one is mean to be more of a fun bonus than anything serious, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless. :)
You don't really need to use passwords to unlock Roll, or heck, I'm not even sure if the password even works any more. You just need to lose a mission once with Dr. Light to unlock Roll.
To use passwords, once you've selected a doctor on the mission menu, repeatedly press on the doctor until a prompt comes up, then use the password.
