Oh no! You, yes, you over there. You are part of a thing known as the Mega Man RPG Prototype. You know that the creator and leader of this buiseness is the one and only Adrian Marceau. But, wait, he's invited you to this odd, murky dungeon. With you and other people you may or may not know, you walk into the mansion. It's remarkable, it's beautiful, but, wait, something seems odd about it. The lights are turned off, and the curtains are pulled shut, there's a note on the ground:

Typical Ransom Note style, this "???" fellow seems new to this kind of thing

Wow, this "Fellow Program" seems to have kidnapped Adrian! Will you be the one to save Adrian? Or will you just be a big weenie and run away home

Now, onto the rules of this hot mess
1. Sign Ups: Okay, this'll be a bit harsh I guess, but I'm still enforcing it. Only characters based off the user, like if you're Ender, your character will be based off of you. BUT, also, you can also use characters from Web Comics/Fanfics floating around this site, as long as they aren't official Mega Man characters. For example, do you want to be Rhythm_BCA's Melodia? Perhaps you'd like being EEKADO from Beta and Mega's comic? What about the fabled Moonstone from MusicalKitty's Megabound? What about [REDACTED] from SSN's game? BUT(t) here's a twist! IF these projects use an official Mega Man character, but are able to make them different to the official character, you can choose them. Pun-Loving Cut's Corner Cut Man and Short Alien Megabound Slur are on the table, however, Super-Fighting Robot BCA/Beta and Mega Mega Man is not on the table. Also, I will deny Non-Project fan characters like Blaze Man or Ninja Man on sight, and likely Official MM Characters that aren't featured in any projects like Fan or Drill Man, unless if you provide a good spin on them, like Emotionless-Killer Fan, or Renowned Mathematician Drill Man.

As of now, I'm starting to consider the use of OCs as player options in Mystery Mansion. I will accept OC characters, but as long as you give them a proper bio and at least something about their personality. If you need help with developing a character's personality, I know how to help:
So, this is only one little thing, but it does go a very long way. Don't describe what the character is, but more what the character does. For example, instead of "She likes animals" you can say "She regularly holds bake sales in order to fund repopulation projects for her favorite endangered animals."
And if you even want, this article by TVtropes may or may not help you out with your bio

2. Sign Up Bios: You must provide information about your character. Their personality, motives, likes and dislikes are good. You may go into more descriptive if you want. I can understand if you pick a character from like Megabound and you cannot provide a really big bio because of the character or whatnot. As for official characters you are willing to take a spin on, I expect a descriptive bio, and at least so it doesn't seem like all you did was make Mega Man green and slightly shorter.

3. Combat-ish system: Along with the Roleplay itself, there will also be a combat-ish system I guess. In your character bio, specify whether your play-style is Aggressive Assertive or Passive and the combat-ish system will be ultra simplified:

-There will only be three stats: Health, Charisma, and Attack There is now five stats! And I've gone into much more detail about these stats as well!

Health:
Health is what keeps the player moving. Health, as in most games, is a value used to calculate how much a player can take before giving out. Every player starts at 20 Base Health, but there are many ways that Health can be boosted:
1.) Being hit by an attack that inflicts more than 1 point of damage will increase the player's Max Health by 1!

2.) Eating different foods. Luxurious or event foods will usually increase the player's health by 10-20. Some more common foods may only boost Health by 2-5.

3.) Quests/Dungeons will also occasionally increase Health when completed.

When a player's Health reaches 0, the player is taken to the entrance of the mansion with one of their items stolen by SSJ3 the moose. However, the player can always try and bribe or persuade him to give the item back.

Charisma:
Charisma, however, may be proven to be a bit more difficult to explain. Charisma is used for many things, such as:
1.) Interacting with enemies. Players may find themselves interacting and conversing with enemies. They might have an item a player is interested in, or the player may be trying to convince them not to attack. The general calculation for if an enemy will listen is usually Charisma = % Chance. Some more stubborn enemies may follow Charisma/2 = % Chance.

2.) Merchant Discounts. Most of the items bought in Mystery Mansion are through the merchants. Charisma will act as a percentage discount to these goods, the equation is (Charisma/10 = % Discount) although the cap for said discount is at 50%

3.) Enemy Drops. Enemies, when defeated, will usually have a small chance to drop an item. These item drops will have a base drop rate, but said rate will be increased by Charisma. The equation for said act is [BaseDrop * (Charisma/10)] = NewDrop. Most item drops will be simply healing items or other trinkets, but in the rare case that the enemy will drop a weapon, it will usually have a base of around 0.1%

4.) Entering Dungeons. Sure, being able to slaughter through anything possible is fun, but if you do not have enough Charisma, your options for dungeons are limited. However, there are always an assortment of quests in places like the Garden, Floor 4, Outside and the Chef's Room. As said earlier, quests are rather quick and give a well amount of money and Charisma.

There are many ways to gain Charisma as well. Many Luxurious foods will raise Charisma, doing quests will give around 5-20 Charisma per quest, and simply befriending an enemy in-battle nets a base amount of 5. Finishing dungeons will even raise the player's Charisma stat as well, although it is possible to lower your Charisma as well, although the only few recorded times it happened in Mystery Mansion were through less conventional means, so no need to worry about randomly losing 15 Charisma if you bump into an enemy on accident.

Attack:
Attack is the stat used to determine the strength of attacks, as well as strength-based overworld actions (such as pushing a heavy rock, the equation for that would be Attack = % of success). The actual damage an attack will do is calculated by [Attack - Defense]. Defeating an enemy will always increase the player's attack, along with getting new weapons, and sometimes even eating Luxurious or event foods!

Immunity -Although players do not have the Immunity stat, some major enemies will have them. Immunity is simply just a defense stat for defense-piercing weapon-based attacks, no need to worry about the stat.

P.Defense:
P.Defense stands for Player Defense, and is the defense stat used when attacked by player characters. This stat was mainly added in so players have a harder time with killing each other as easy as a 1000 C hot knife through soft butter. Player Defense can be increased by using items (such as the disposable equipment such as knives or ribbons that provide a +10 stat boost) and by getting hit by another player character as well will increase it by 5. Don't worry though, the mansion is a rather peaceful place and there will never be a 24/7 fear of being knocked out by other players.

N.Defense:
N.Defense stands for eNcounter Defense, and is the defense stat used when attacked by enemies. N.Defense is a rather hard stat to upgrade, only really being able to be increased by high level merchants on the higher floors of the mansion, or taking up any quests that involve creating an armor.

I'll also explain the three Play styles as well:
Aggressive Starting stats: Attack: 85 Charisma: 35
A play style for those who don't really want to befriend any encounters in the mansion, and just fight them. I should note that just because you pick an Aggressive play style, you aren't prohibited from befriending encounters.

Assertive Starting stats: Attack: 60 Charisma: 60
A play style for those that cannot choose between Aggressive or Passive, or want to be able to have the options to effectively kill or befriend encounters.

Passive Starting stats: Attack: 35 Charisma: 85
A play style for those who want to befriend the encounters in the mansion. I shall note that I will try to make the three play styles as equal as possible in terms of difficulty

4. Literary Roleplaying- Yes, I know that this'll be hard for me to explain unless if I do this, so:
Case A: "He flirts with the encounter, attempting to compliment its looks
Case B: "*flirts with encounter*"
I'd rather you to do this in the style of Case A. Write this as if you are writing a story, and please make your posts longer than three words.

Okay, I think that's it. If you do indeed have questions, I will answer them. This roleplay will start when at least two people join and are accepted, but you could join any time you want

The Discord server is great for players that want to improve their characters and get feedback on them, or give feedback about Mystery Mansion itself. Don't be afraid to check it out; I'm the only moderator and the server itself doesn't have any rules beyond "Don't be r00d and don't ruin the servers vibes"

Actually, can I be real with you for a sec?
You see, one day, I was minding my own business, when suddenly, I noticed some kind of portal.
Curiosity got the best of me, and then... Well, here I am, trying to find some way to get back home.
And I wasn't just here to ask about those robots and the connection with one of those foxes...
...Just to sum things up... Do you know a thing or two about "inter-dimensional portals"? The one I entered through to get here kinda vanished when I went through.

@NiceIce : the spider screeched and dissolved into nothing after only 2 or 3 stomps. [+2 exp, +3.5 Zenny, +5 Attack]
(assuming NiceIce would head to the chest)
NiceIce opened up the treasure chest, Finding inside an Attack Capsule

ATTACK CAPSULE
Effect: Raises Attack by 5.

Who will NiceIce use it on?

What will you do next?
@Pixel23 : The Chef shook his head.
"Oh no, of course not! Inside the kitchen, there's an oven nearby. If you can successfully push the monster into the oven without killing it, I suppose I can make any food that you request... within reason, of course."

Will Pixel take the quest?

What will you do next?
@RotomSlashBlast : Rotom aims to Ring.exe, then shoots two large, spinning gears at Ring! (HT)
[200 * 1.2 * 1 = -240 Health]

Ring.exe
Health: 2460/3000
Attack: ???
Defense: 0
Immunity: 10

Ability: Net Phase- Ring.exe's attacks aren't affected by the opponent's Defense stats, but still affected by damage lowering moves

Ring.exe looks into her source code, and adds in the [D#, E#, and F# Commands]{electtric}
Ring.exe computed a randomized string of code...

A1 - B2 - C1 - D4 - E4 - F4

B2: Attack +1
Ring's attack for the turn was raised by 1

C1: Guard
Ring formed a thin, protective barrier around her and will reduce damage next turn by 15%

D4: Magnet Bomb
Ring tossed a small, electrical bomb to Rotom, inflicting 2 damage

E4: AntiRecovery
Ring.exe checked to see if Rotom used any Healing items...
...
... It failed

F4: Whirlpool
Ring.exe tossed a ring onto the ground. A rush of water emerged from the ring and submerged the battlefiald, lowering Rotom's Health by 4 and increasing the Aqua efficiency to 1.5x

A1: Ring Rang
Ring tossed two rings at Rotom! [-4 Health]

Ring.exe
Health: 2460/3000
Attack: ???
Defense: 0
Immunity: 10

Damage Reduction: 15%
AntiRecovery: In Effect

Aqua Efficiency: 1.5x

Total Damage Loss: 10

What will you do next?
@Walter : Proto MK II heads up to Floor 3

~~~~~~
Floor 3 is rather barren now, a former shell of itself. However, it still does have a few attraction. There's a PC, in which Rotom is standing at, and a series of beds. Further is the Guardian Panda's Hut, and beyond the hut is a sea of darkness...
Interactable Objects
PC (Has Rotom, fighting Ring.exe)
Beds
Sink
Guardian Panda's Hut
Head into the darkness
What will you do next?
@Beta Man : At the mention of inter-dimensional portals, Mikey's glasses flashed a bit.
"Inter-Dimensional Portals? Well... Panda and I have been working on a few portals of sorts, well, it depends on your definition of portals..." Mikey grabbed a purple glove and put it onto his right hand. He then headed into another room. After about a minute or so, Mikey came out holding a small, basketball-sized orb. It was mainly black, with an odd, purple mist floating about inside of it. It beared a heavy resemblance to a robot core...
"I've been working on this for months now, all the way back in February! This thing here, is called a Wonder Core, and it may look very similar to a robot's core, but it actually holds something much more than that! Inside each of these cores is what we call a microcosm, or another dimension held within a smaller object within a much larger dimension. Now, keep in mind that not all of these are man-made, and a lot of them are much less linear than this Mansion, so it can get kind of hard to keep track of yourself inside of a microcosm..." With the red glove, Mikey poked at the Wonder Core. The core showed a projection of the dimension within...
It was a town set among the desert. It seemed to be very similar to Ancient Egypt, with a variety of small, stone houses among an endless, sandy area, and a large, oversized temple. There was a group of people building a rather tall, thin structure out of stones and in front of it, a fox and a panda were talking to a lion, who was wearing rather extravagant clothing. They appeared very similar to the Guardian animal of their species, it was almost uncanny.
"As you can see, this microcosm shows a dimension that is as technologically advanced as Ancient Egypt was in out dimension. This is a manmade microcosm, of course, as those characters down there look very similar to the Guardians in this mansion. I have about four of these Microcosms in total, but only one is a natural Dimension which means that'll most likely get you on the track home... Would you like me to explain more about these? I know that it's hard to wrap your brain around these types of things,"
What will you do next?
heeey hey hey, guess whos gonna try to join this again
me
this time with my BEAUTIFUL BOY storung (who u already kno so ;) ;) )
anyway uh
here we go
okay this is gonna be pretentious af and really bad because its currently 1:45 AM as i write this so eeeeerghhggnegh im sorry
Störung flipped through his book, slouching in his chair and losing his gentleman-like composure, holding the book in one hand ever so daintily, and resting his head on the other. He looked up from his book and at his clock; 11:30 PM.
Normally, this man doesn’t stay up very late (he gets up quite early after all. Waking up at around 6-7:30, and doing anything that either he wants to do, or needs to be done), but tonight is different from all the other ones. It’s something that hasn’t kept him up for years.
Dread.
Something was wrong. Something was very very wrong, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. So, Störung got up and out of his chair quickly, although reluctantly, and roamed around his house, rummaging through drawers, closets, the whole lot. He..doesn’t really really know exactly why he’s doing this, but he has this odd feeling that there’s something important he forgot about…
When there was nothing else to search through-furniture wise that is-, he checked his pockets. Inside, he felt a folded piece of paper in it, took it out, and opened it. He mumbled to himself what it read.
“...Adrian Marceau?” He said, raising an eyebrow, “Who in God’s name is THAT?”
He put the letter down on a coffee table sitting beside him, and sat back down, picking up his book.
Then, everything turned black.
Heh, just kidding
In a flash, everything around the German man changed. It seemed to glow and fade, but merge and become dim at the same time. Before he knew it, he was outside a mansion, In the middle of the night, probably alone. Oh god, someone help him.
“I...what?”
He looked around for a couple minutes, trying to process everything that was going on, until…
“Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me! I thought I learned how to control that AGES AGO Darling!” He whined to himself
In case you haven’t realized it yet, he teleported. Lovely.
Störung took a deep breath and snapped his fingers, which, in response, only produced a faint orange spark. He can’t get back home! Oh, this is truly dreadful, as he would say
“Ohhh this is absolutely dreadful! How am I going to-...” He looked up at the mansion, his face quickly turning from slight disappointment to pure disgust, “Oh no Darling, I am NOT going in there!”
He stands there for a minute or two, before sighing, and going inside.
This is going to be a long night.
(oh, btw, neutral fighting style)
@Beta Man : "Oh, you've worked with stuff like this, then? That's pretty interesting..." Mikey set the Wonder-Core back onto the table, heading back into the other room in order to obtain another core. This time, it was a bit larger than the last Wonder-Core, and was a dark red color, with a purple mist floating about inside.
"Okay, this is the first- and only- Wonder Core that holds a natural dimension, as the other ones held dimensions that Panda and I created. I'll just show you a quick glimpse of what it looks like..." With the glove, Mikey traced the outline of a square on the core, with made it show a projection of the dimension within...
The projection was of a small town in a cold, snowy area. The town consisted of a few houses, a small convenience store, a library, and a fast food place. However, about a block away from the town was an observatory with a large, glass dome over it.
"This is the only natural dimension I've been able to find. Does this look anything like where you lived? If not, I have an idea of how we can find your dimension..." Mikey adjusted his glasses, looking further into the core. "Making a Wonder-Core that can link to a specific dimension is rather difficult, but only if you don't have the proper tools.
There's a scientist down there that has a set of Inter-Dimension Parts, I'll contact her to give them to you. And since you were able to exit your dimension from a portal, I'd imagine you might be able to find some sort of item that holds a connection to your universe in here. Perhaps a recipe for your favorite food, or a copy of an article clothing that a friend of yours wore... Something like that?" Mikey set the core back down on the table, then closed the projection.
"Anyway, would you like to tell me a bit about the world you lived in? Perhaps I can help you locating the item you'd need to make sure you'll return back where your home is?"
What will you do next?
@Charchar : Heck yeah!
Storung headed inside of the mansion, possibly due to the fact that there was no way to return home. He had been trying to suppress his magic powers for a while, which had left the gem on his collar to slowly lose its color and shape. It had used to be a red, pentagonal(?) gem with an evil looking swirl inside of it, but had now turned into a clear, flat gem, with a small blue speck inside. Even though Storung only knew how to properly know how to use a basic Teleport spell, Storung always had the ability to relearn any magic he forgot by reading one of the many spooky magic books he owned. But now, he was without his books, being unable to relearn any magic powers he had, and it's completely possible that no one in the mansion even knew how to read at all!
The inside of the mansion wasn't as scary looking as the outside. The Lobby was even kind of inviting!The room was lit by an extravagent chandelier, and a lion with a paper bow tie sat at the other end of the room, selling various pastries. There were four other doors in the lobby, along with a staircase leading up. Storung then heard a small, wispy voice behind him.
"Welcome, welcome! Are you new to the mansion?" If Storung were to look behind him, he'd see a ghost wearing a little red had and a black bowtie. He flashed Storung a smile. "How are you today?
@Pixel23 : Pixel entered the kitchen. Overall, the kitchen was rather messy, looking as if it was thrashed by some sort of monster (which it was) and the walls were covered in various tomato sauces. If Pixel were to walk further into the kitchen, he would see a lone plate of spaghetti sitting on a counter. The plate then slowly started to move about, and two legs started to form at the bottom of the plate, revealing its true self!
Spaghetti Monster
Spaghetti Monster
Health: 75/75
Attack: 6
Defense: 15
The Spaghetti Monster slapped at Pixel with one of its arms! [-3 Health]
Actions (doing multiple actions doesn't waste a turn; the player can do an action and attack in the same turn)
Turn Oven On:Spaghetti Monster will take 10 Flame Damage per turn after oven is turned on
Shove: The %age chance of shoving the Spaghetti Monster into the oven = (40 + % of monster's Health depleted)
@NiceIce : NiceIce applies the Attack Capsule to Roll and boosts her attack stat up by 5! NiceIce then entered Forest 4
A warm brush of sweet smelling air hit NiceIce and Roll [+20 Health]. In the room was nothing but a note on a signpost. It read:
"Make sure you're prepared to go into the next room, as it holds the person guarding the Botany Badge. They are fast enough to act multiple times before you can react, and can create flower-shaped turrets to keep you on your toes. The turrets themselves are rather frail, even a breeze will make them topple over."
What will you do next?
@Capejedi : Cape decided to head into the Open Market in an attempt to find a lightbulb. Although many people were selling that day, only one person was giving out lightbulbs: an old woman who seemed to be selling old, useless items that she no longer needed.
Old Woman Merchant
Lightbulb: 15 12.75 Zenny
Provides light. Much more stable source of light than a torch, as long as it's powered by electricity.
Vase: 5 4.25 Zenny
Can hold 3 items (even other vases!). It was made by someone who took a Ceramics class in community college; it got a B-
Jacket 13 11 Zenny
Max. Health +4, P.Defense +20. All Freeze and Water attacks inflict 25% less damage on user.
Waffle Maker 35 29.75 Zenny
Put .25 Zenny in the machine to get a Plain Waffle. Plain Waffles recover about 6 Health. Has 75 uses
What will you do next?
@Walter : The second that Proto dabbed, an endless ocean of guilt and shame filled his body. He would've probably been ostracized if someone saw him, but luckily no one was around to see his sinful deed, so nothing too bad happened to him.
Walking into the hut, Proto saw the Guardian Panda by himself, making what looked like tea. He didn't even notice that Walter was standing behind him until he turned around.
"Huh, how did you get in here? Isn't the third floor off limits right now?"
What will you do next?
Okay, I'm sorry for the three or so hour delay between the two posts. I know that no one really posted in between that delay, but just so I don't have an anxiety attack over it, please make sure not to post until I respond to everyone and get the player info page up (unless if another solar eclipse happen soon, the whole process should only take an hour at the very most)
**WARNING: A LOT OF TEXT INCOMING**
...Do you mind if I take a seat? It's going to be a long story.
Assuming Mikey permits Serif to sit, he does so. Either way, he proceeds to tell the story of his world- Its history and its people.
"In my world, a long time ago, two races ruled over the Earth: Humans and Robots. One day, a war broke out between the two races. The humans won, and for a pretty good reason... You see, in their souls, there is a power known as DETERMINATION. The ability to shape the world- and time itself if strong enough. And for us robots... In place of SOULs, we have COREs- more specifically, a clearly different take of cores than the cores of our world. Our COREs do not hold the same DETERMINATION humans do- Instead, we are mostly made of magic. There are, however, more artificial robots with artificial COREs that are NOT powered by magic. However, in terms of power, DETERMINATION beats our magic, and us robots are sealed away in an underground land known as 'Prototype'. A few robots decided to make towns here-and-there. We even have our own power source that the old King of the Prototype called 'Final Destination'. It was built by the previous Royal Scientist, ...Er... Well, the person I mentioned earlier. To be honest, whatever happened to them apparently erased them from existence entirely... Can't truly remember what, though. ...Anyways, for a while I lived with them in his lab in Atomic Furnace. But after he disappeared, I moved out. Eventually, I became roommates with a robot known as MegaBoy in a city called 'Arctic City'. ...It looked ALMOST like the one you showed me, but with a few rearranged buildings and changed names and looks as well as a lack of an observatory."
...I'm not too certain, but I'm not sure if anything or anyone else came here to this world. The portal merely disappeared as soon as I entered.
But perhaps there IS something. When I came in here, I lost two of my abilities: Something I like to call "Shortcuts" and the ability to spawn giant busters.
I don't think I can relearn my Shortcuts anywhere around here- Though I wouldn't actually know where I'm going with or without them anyways- But I think I CAN find at least one of my giant busters around here.
I usually only use it if I want to give a terribly evil person a Bad Time, but perhaps it's something we can use to make that portal home.
@Musical : Reading the sign, after taking in that sweet breeze... He looked more cautious about advancing now, also taking note of how they can act multiple times, and keeping in mind of the turrets being frail, and easily destroyed by even a b r e e z e. "Roll are you re- What am I saying, you can't really even talk." He advances to the next room, armed and ready, breathing his icy breath, freezing small plants that touch it... He walks into the next room, and shouts out. "I'M A SOLDIER HERE READY TO FIGHT! SHOW YOURSELF!"
