Oh no! You, yes, you over there. You are part of a thing known as the Mega Man RPG Prototype. You know that the creator and leader of this buiseness is the one and only Adrian Marceau. But, wait, he's invited you to this odd, murky dungeon. With you and other people you may or may not know, you walk into the mansion. It's remarkable, it's beautiful, but, wait, something seems odd about it. The lights are turned off, and the curtains are pulled shut, there's a note on the ground:
Wow, this "Fellow Program" seems to have kidnapped Adrian! Will you be the one to save Adrian? Or will you just be a big weenie and run away home
Now, onto the rules of this hot mess1. Sign Ups: Okay, this'll be a bit harsh I guess, but I'm still enforcing it. Only characters based off the user, like if you're Ender, your character will be based off of you. BUT, also, you can also use characters from Web Comics/Fanfics floating around this site, as long as they aren't official Mega Man characters. For example, do you want to be Rhythm_BCA's Melodia? Perhaps you'd like being EEKADO from Beta and Mega's comic? What about the fabled Moonstone from MusicalKitty's Megabound? What about [REDACTED] from SSN's game? BUT(t) here's a twist! IF these projects use an official Mega Man character, but are able to make them different to the official character, you can choose them. Pun-Loving Cut's Corner Cut Man and Short Alien Megabound Slur are on the table, however, Super-Fighting Robot BCA/Beta and Mega Mega Man is not on the table. Also, I will deny Non-Project fan characters like Blaze Man or Ninja Man on sight, and likely Official MM Characters that aren't featured in any projects like Fan or Drill Man, unless if you provide a good spin on them, like Emotionless-Killer Fan, or Renowned Mathematician Drill Man.
As of now, I'm starting to consider the use of OCs as player options in Mystery Mansion. I will accept OC characters, but as long as you give them a proper bio and at least something about their personality. If you need help with developing a character's personality, I know how to help: So, this is only one little thing, but it does go a very long way. Don't describe what the character is, but more what the character does. For example, instead of "She likes animals" you can say "She regularly holds bake sales in order to fund repopulation projects for her favorite endangered animals." And if you even want, this article by TVtropes may or may not help you out with your bio
2. Sign Up Bios: You must provide information about your character. Their personality, motives, likes and dislikes are good. You may go into more descriptive if you want. I can understand if you pick a character from like Megabound and you cannot provide a really big bio because of the character or whatnot. As for official characters you are willing to take a spin on, I expect a descriptive bio, and at least so it doesn't seem like all you did was make Mega Man green and slightly shorter.
3. Combat-ish system: Along with the Roleplay itself, there will also be a combat-ish system I guess. In your character bio, specify whether your play-style is AggressiveAssertive or Passive and the combat-ish system will be ultra simplified:
-There will only be three stats: Health, Charisma, and Attack There is now five stats! And I've gone into much more detail about these stats as well!
Health: Health is what keeps the player moving. Health, as in most games, is a value used to calculate how much a player can take before giving out. Every player starts at 20 Base Health, but there are many ways that Health can be boosted: 1.) Being hit by an attack that inflicts more than 1 point of damage will increase the player's Max Health by 1!
2.) Eating different foods. Luxurious or event foods will usually increase the player's health by 10-20. Some more common foods may only boost Health by 2-5.
3.) Quests/Dungeons will also occasionally increase Health when completed.
When a player's Health reaches 0, the player is taken to the entrance of the mansion with one of their items stolen by SSJ3 the moose. However, the player can always try and bribe or persuade him to give the item back.
Charisma: Charisma, however, may be proven to be a bit more difficult to explain. Charisma is used for many things, such as: 1.) Interacting with enemies. Players may find themselves interacting and conversing with enemies. They might have an item a player is interested in, or the player may be trying to convince them not to attack. The general calculation for if an enemy will listen is usually Charisma = % Chance. Some more stubborn enemies may follow Charisma/2 = % Chance.
2.) Merchant Discounts. Most of the items bought in Mystery Mansion are through the merchants. Charisma will act as a percentage discount to these goods, the equation is (Charisma/10 = % Discount) although the cap for said discount is at 50%
3.) Enemy Drops. Enemies, when defeated, will usually have a small chance to drop an item. These item drops will have a base drop rate, but said rate will be increased by Charisma. The equation for said act is [BaseDrop * (Charisma/10)] = NewDrop. Most item drops will be simply healing items or other trinkets, but in the rare case that the enemy will drop a weapon, it will usually have a base of around 0.1%
4.) Entering Dungeons. Sure, being able to slaughter through anything possible is fun, but if you do not have enough Charisma, your options for dungeons are limited. However, there are always an assortment of quests in places like the Garden,Floor 4,Outside and the Chef's Room. As said earlier, quests are rather quick and give a well amount of money and Charisma.
There are many ways to gain Charisma as well. Many Luxurious foods will raise Charisma, doing quests will give around 5-20 Charisma per quest, and simply befriending an enemy in-battle nets a base amount of 5. Finishing dungeons will even raise the player's Charisma stat as well, although it is possible to lower your Charisma as well, although the only few recorded times it happened in Mystery Mansion were through less conventional means, so no need to worry about randomly losing 15 Charisma if you bump into an enemy on accident.
Attack: Attack is the stat used to determine the strength of attacks, as well as strength-based overworld actions (such as pushing a heavy rock, the equation for that would be Attack = % of success). The actual damage an attack will do is calculated by [Attack - Defense]. Defeating an enemy will always increase the player's attack, along with getting new weapons, and sometimes even eating Luxurious or event foods!
Immunity -Although players do not have the Immunity stat, some major enemies will have them. Immunity is simply just a defense stat for defense-piercing weapon-based attacks, no need to worry about the stat.
P.Defense: P.Defense stands for Player Defense, and is the defense stat used when attacked by player characters. This stat was mainly added in so players have a harder time with killing each other as easy as a 1000 C hot knife through soft butter. Player Defense can be increased by using items (such as the disposable equipment such as knives or ribbons that provide a +10 stat boost) and by getting hit by another player character as well will increase it by 5. Don't worry though, the mansion is a rather peaceful place and there will never be a 24/7 fear of being knocked out by other players.
N.Defense: N.Defense stands for eNcounter Defense, and is the defense stat used when attacked by enemies. N.Defense is a rather hard stat to upgrade, only really being able to be increased by high level merchants on the higher floors of the mansion, or taking up any quests that involve creating an armor.
I'll also explain the three Play styles as well: Aggressive Starting stats: Attack: 85Charisma: 35 A play style for those who don't really want to befriend any encounters in the mansion, and just fight them. I should note that just because you pick an Aggressive play style, you aren't prohibited from befriending encounters.
Assertive Starting stats: Attack: 60Charisma: 60 A play style for those that cannot choose between Aggressive or Passive, or want to be able to have the options to effectively kill or befriend encounters.
Passive Starting stats: Attack: 35Charisma: 85 A play style for those who want to befriend the encounters in the mansion. I shall note that I will try to make the three play styles as equal as possible in terms of difficulty
4. Literary Roleplaying- Yes, I know that this'll be hard for me to explain unless if I do this, so: Case A: "He flirts with the encounter, attempting to compliment its looks Case B: "*flirts with encounter*" I'd rather you to do this in the style of Case A. Write this as if you are writing a story, and please make your posts longer than three words.

Upon seeing the inside of the mansion; Storung felt a bit less angery than before, and straightened himself up (mostly because there were people, and he didn't want to look like a grumpy old man). Though, the lion over there is a bit strange. Don't you think, dear?
Storung jumped a bit when he heard the little ghost speak, emitting a tiny squeak. He calmed down though, and turned around. Giving the ghost a sweet smile.
"Oh, I'm doing just fine sweetheart~" He said, a faint accent could be heard as he spoke. He paused for a moment, before saying, "Ahh...Dear, you wouldn't mind telling me what's going on with this little mansion now, would you? I'm awfully...Well, to put it lightly, confused darling! It's a bit odd here."

What will you do next?@Walter : Guardian Panda nodded, then proceeded to put a tea bag into a large container of water. "Well, I'm not entirely sure if this area's off limits anymore. From May to June, this place was closed down because of issues concerning the monsters running around here, but it may have been reopened to the public around that time..." Panda gingerly poured a cup of warm tea into a cup, dumping about a liter of sugar down into that cup. "Would you like some tea?"
What will you do next?@Charchar : "Oh, well the mansion is pretty slow right now. Or, at least down here in the lobby, I'm frankly too scared to go upstairs." the Greeter Ghost looked upstairs, then shivered to himself. "If you don't know already, though, there's five floors on this mansion, along with a lake, a forest, and if I'm right, there might even be a cave somewhere to explore on this property! I know that I'm rambling but, even though I'm just a Greeter, I own about 10% of this property, a-and I just really, really love talking about it. I have a tourist map for the mansion, but it only has information about the first two floors." Ghost Greeter handed Storung a basic map. Wow, it had a lot of words on it... "If you still need someone to talk to, I'm here and I'll tag along with you if you get lost. If you can't get back to the first floor, you can find a lot of the Animal Guardians walking around these parts, you can always talk to them."
What will you do next?@NiceIce : NiceIce then entered the room, guns a-blazing to meet whatever monster was up ahead. However, in the room was only a single rose. If NiceIce were to get near the rose, he would see the flower part of it turn around to meet NiceIce. However, the core of the flower was completely black, almost black hole like. Then, a goat's head appeared within the emptiness and eventually started growing larger within the area until he popped out from the flower. Eventually, there was a large, goat-like figure standing in front of NiceIce. He had large, thorned vines growing on his horns and wore a full body cape consisting of brightly colored flower petals. Seeing NiceIce, he only waved and smiled. "Oh, hello there. I am Gary, I suppose you can say I'm the boss of this dungeon area? Anyway, you look like a rather strong individual, and since I haven't had many people to talk to, it'll be nice to challenge you! Just, let me get this place prepared before we battle." Gary pulled out a Nature Starforce 0.5 from within his cape and tossed it in the sky, letting it hang in the air. A bright green flash covered the room, and a large barrier of thorns covered the outer area of the room, and Nature efficiency was boosted!
~~~~~~~ Starting his turn, Gary grabbed two petals from his cape and tossed it into the air, forming two large dandelion seed like turrets, all floating above Gary. One shot at Roll [-8 Health] while the other targeted NiceIce [-1 Health]

@Beta Man : Mike sat down to listen to Beta's story, glancing back to the Wonder Core occasionally in order to try and compare it to what Beta was describing to him. "Well, if you think you can find one of your busters in this town, you might be able to. If this town looks similar to your home, I bet you'll at least find something that relates to your universe there. From what I know, there's a cave down there that's about a block away from the town, if you're gonna find an item in your universe it'll be in there." Mikey then set the Wonder Core on a small pedestal and then opened up a little drawer at his desk, pulling out a purple cloth glove and two 100 Zenny notes and setting them in front of Beta. "You're going to need a Reveal Glove yourself in order to access a Wonder Core, and since you may have trouble getting Zenny down there, I'll give you 200 Zenny to use down there, in case you need any food or tools. If you end up in a bad spot down there, you can always use your glove to come back to the mansion, and you can come back here to try again. Now, are you ready to head down there?"
What will you do next?@Pixel23 : Pixel flicked the "ON" switch on the oven, making it shoot a burst of fire at the Spaghetti monster! [-10 Health]
Seeing that the oven was on, the Spaghetti Monster was caught off guard when Pixel came up to talk to him, making the shove (which inflicted 10 damage) much more efficient! (1.25x higher chance of success)
40% + 26% = 66 * 1.25 = 82.5% to succeed Base Chance %age of enemy's health depleted Multiplier
The Spaghetti Monster was shoved into the oven, returning back to its dormant state. Showing proof that Pixel got the Spaghetti Monster into the oven, it left a Green Tupperware Bowl on the ground for Pixel to show to the chef.

And with that, he was off. He checked the map again and, good god, he barely knows how to read this thing. Due to him being able to teleport, and GPS being a thing, he hasn't used a map in quite a long time. Still, he tries his best based off of the sliver of map-reading-knowledge he has left, and goes to...
"Uh, well uh...The...C-Community Garden seems nice. Yes~"
You immediately use the wooden flute and then attempt to reflect the incoming attack before Ring Man's Twin Sister From Another Dimension kicks your *REGGAE'd* at speeds faster than mach 3!
MKII hesitated for a split second before willingly taking a cup of tea. He then thaws, morbidly curious about one of the things the Guardian Panda said.

"Welp, sorry for the abrupt entrance and beginning to this battle, but... Don't mean to blow you away but." He points to the enemy group yelling, "STORM TORNADO!" As he watches his Roll fire a Storm Tornado at the Turrets, along with Gary.
Capejedi : Cape exits the mansion and grapples up to the roof. As he walks up to it, he sees...
Nothing, really. There had been a fight a few months ago, but that seemed to be done with. However, there was a Broken Fan resting on the roof. Perhaps it could be taken in to be fixed and weaponized?
What wil you do next?@Pixel23 : The Chef looked to the bowl, opening up the plastic lid and peering inside of it. "Wow, nice! You were able to get rid of the monster, and save my favorite bowl?" He headed into the kitchen to cook the meal for Pixel, like he promised. About twenty or so minutes later, the Chef walked out of the kitchen with a Luxurious Lasagna, if Pixel were to eat it right now, he would gain [+10 Max. Health, +30 Charisma] "If you're planning to head upstairs, there's a Garden outside too. Just be wary going up a staircase, you might have to fend yourself against others going up or down the stairs, people can get kind of aggressive there."

They're mainly just failed Starforce experiments, before Adrian was able to perfect being able to use Stars to power up. These monsters have been directly fused with Stars instead of simply consuming their power: they're dangerous and have no ability to hold back from attacking people." Guardian Panda then sat down, starting to drink his tea. Unlike mostly everyone else in the mansion, Panda didn't drink his tea or coffee with sugar in it. How odd.
"I've been trying to create weapons that work against them, but for me, they're too weak. I can use my other weapons and take subdue them more easily."

A Smoking ball of fire, is hurtling towards the garden, near the mansion... It appears to be a meteor, smoking hot, it crashes into a tree, spreading sparks and fire everywhere, while it sits there, unmoving. Name: Charon Species: Gieeg Abilities: PSI, hovering. Playstyle and Stats: Assertive. 100 ATK 100 CHA, normal starting HP, P.Defense, and E.Defense. Bio: A Strange alien from another planet, hardly remembering anything, being a timid and shy being, she can be very paranoid, contributing to her fears, it may cause her to go a bit... Kooky, maybe leading to the death of a being, with her not knowing what they're capable of, it's all in her own defense. She appears to be very fluffy, with her mesmerizing pink eyes. Her PSI is... Different from others, being able to harness the power of planets, and their specific moons, with a combination of buffing healing, and offense and defense, she can pack a punch, but may cause her to go a bit kooky, with the stronger ones cause her to lose her mental state. A Few minutes later... The meteor cracked, and opened up, revealing a pod, containing what seemed to be... A Alien? Cat? Lizard? Reptilian? Whatever it was, it wasn't from this planet... It opened up, smoke racing out of the pod, as the inhabitant of the pod rose from it, coughing. "W-Wha? Where am I? What's going o-on..." She looked confused, scared, frightened, paranoid, she doesn't seem to be very open to conversation currently.... She examined her surroundings, looking at all the fire. "O-Ohnonono! F-Fire!" She made a slight peep, and the next thing that happened, she put the fire out with some PSI she has, using a wave of water! She was puffing a bit, looking a bit exhausted, seeing as she got a bit mentally exhausted from that. "O-Oh deary me... What have I g-gotten into?"
After looking around a bit more, she noticed a man, with a pelican... Talking to it? After hesitating a bit, she hovered over to them... Looking shy, hesitating yet again, she managed to let out a little hello. "U-Uhm... Greetings! Appears y-you two are here so uh, if you can could you... T-Tell me where I am?" She continued looking paranoid and wary, looking around a bit, before looking back at the two.
Storung rubbed his forhead, and breathed through gritted teeth. He then looked up, and, well...
"..." "..." "...D...Did you just call me...'dad?'"
... ... ...
"...Well, never mind that!", Storung said, getting up and brushing himself off, "It's perfectly fine! Accidents always happen, sweetheart~" "Now (considering that we bumped into each other), who might you be~?"
